Just when Oscar was riding high with their new savings of $462 a month after Jamie’s pay increase and his side hustle Ubering, he swallowed a bitter pill.
He had just finished an Uber shift and earned $74. He was looking forward to funding his category for date night with Jamie. But, the next day, his interest fee popped up on his credit card statement: $84.
He realized everything he made the prior day disappeared into this interest fee. His debt was a transaction. He realized he was paying for this debt, and it was expensive.
He made a mental note to never go into credit card debt again.
