YNAB Accessibility Statement
Last updated: June 24, 2025
Our Commitment to Accessibility
At YNAB (“we”, “us”, “our”), we’re committed to making our website, mobile applications, educational materials, and other services (the “Services”) inclusive, accessible, and usable for everyone, regardless of ability. We want everyone to experience spendfulness and what it feels like to not second guess their spending.
This statement outlines our efforts to meet accessibility standards and ensure our digital content is inclusive and applies to content available at https://www.ynab.com/ domain and our associated Services.
About YNAB and What We’ve Done
YNAB is a privately held limited-liability company headquartered in Lehi, Utah, USA. We provide financial education software and other financial educational content through our website, our mobile apps, training videos, and other online materials.
Accessibility has been part of our ongoing design and development process for many years. For example, you should be able to:
- zoom up to 200% without issues on our site,
- navigate most of the site using a keyboard,
- toggle between light and dark modes, and
- use modern screen readers or speech recognition tools on most site pages, iOS, and Android.

We work to meet the accessibility requirements outlined in EN 301 549 v.3.2.1 and WCAG 2.2 Level AA guidelines.
We completed our most recent accessibility test on June 24, 2025.
How We’re Maintaining Accessibility
Accessibility at YNAB is not a one-time project—it’s an ongoing priority. We’ve spent thousands of hours making our products more accessible and we continue to:
- Review accessibility during the design and development of new features,
- Collect and act on feedback from our users,
- Provide internal trainings and resources to our employees, and
- Audit our platforms regularly.
If you notice something that could be improved, we’d love to hear from you (see the contact section below).
Known Issues and Continuous Improvement
While we strive to provide an accessible experience across the board, we also acknowledge that there is always room for improvement. After performing an accessibility audit on the entirety of our Services, there were certain issues that we attempted to remediate but were unable to remediate fully at this time, either because addressing these issues required significant internal resources (from a resourcing, staffing, and/or financial perspective) and/or were technically constrained by platform or third-party vendor limitations. We plan to continuously reassess, reevaluate, and improve the accessibility within our Services with each new release.
Examples:
- Help Center Accessibility Gaps: Some issues persist—such as missing link text, header structure inconsistencies, and zooming/scaling bugs. We've fixed many bugs but some fixes require collaboration with our vendor or deep engineering time that isn’t feasible for us right now. We’ll continue to reassess and push our vendor for improvements.
- iOS and Android App Zoom Limitations: At this time, our iOS and Android apps do not support full 200% text scaling. You can zoom up to XXXL on iOS and up to 150% on Android. Due to platform constraints and current engineering capacity, this remains an area where compliance imposes a disproportionate burden on us. But, please know that it’s on our radar for future improvement, and as we release new features on our apps, we will strive to do so with 200% text scaling in mind.
