Spencer Lutvak

Before working at YNAB and becoming a Certified Coach, Spencer worked in finance departments, as a bookkeeper for large and small companies, and as the owner of a small business. With a degree in math, he also has an educational background as a schoolteacher and director at summer camp. Outside of work, he is a classically trained guitarist and enjoys writing and performing music. He enjoys going to the theater, watching sports, running, and, not unsurprisingly, budgeting.

You’d be hard-pressed to find a coach who knows the software better than Spencer. Not only did he go through actual YNAB Support training, but he even provided support to fellow coaches when they wrote in for help! Working with Spencer means having a judgment-free accountability partner who has seen it all and can personalize your coaching experience to give you the support you need. In addition to screen sharing your budget during sessions, he also provides YNAB-style support between meetings. His greatest sign of success is all the clients who never need his help again!

Spencer became one of the first-ever YNAB Certified Coaches because of his passion for the software and the clarity and confidence it gave him on his own financial journey. His story of starting with YNAB is a testament to the steep learning curve of the software, so he gets immense joy out of helping new and experienced budgeters set up new budgets, learn tips and tricks, and troubleshoot difficult problems. His passion for spreading financial literacy is matched only by his love for the YNAB method and helping people from all walks of life get clarity with their money.
