Matt Renwick

My financial background includes trying out every budgeting app and methodology until I landed on YNAB. I became a budget coach initially to support my two teenage children to learn how to manage their own money. I also wanted to clear out my own outstanding debt and begin to build up savings for true expenses.

My primary role is a certified, license educator. I have served as a classroom teacher,  an assistant principal/athletic director, an elementary principal, and now as a systems coach for a regional education agency, supporting schools and districts in achieving more equitable outcomes.

I am a certified budget coach and a credentialed coach in the field of education.

- I have taken graduate courses for online and in-person instructional coaching.
- I lead a coaching network for other coaches, supporting their professional growth.
- I have written professional articles and a book on coaching.

As someone who has struggled with managing finances, I have compassion for people's situations. I know what it feels like to worry daily about whether you can cover the bills. You can trust me to be understanding with your circumstances, while helping you get out of debt and achieve your goals.

I coach because I have found this approach to be the most effective way for implementing a new system of habits long term. Traditional teaching, trying and applying on one's own, and reading about new knowledge and skills without a trusted coach at one's side is usually not a recipe for sustainable success.

I believe everyone has the capacity to create financial security for themselves and their loved ones, regardless of their current situation.
