Eric Hout
Eric is a former professional teacher and tutor who has used YNAB to guide others to financial success since 2014. As a YNAB Certified Coach, his mission is simple: Eric helps individuals and couples financially prosper through hope-filled financial and budget coaching services.
My Background
I'm no stranger to life's difficult and unexpected financial circumstances. Upon a surprising realization of the total debt we'd be carrying into marriage, my wife and I decided to "tie the knot" anyway, and we paid off over $80,000 shortly after our wedding. We've also weathered an accident totaling one of our vehicles and the recent loss of my wife's income during the pandemic. Despite the setbacks, we've stayed out of non-mortgage debt, saved for the future, and given to others in need, all while using our YNAB budget.
Why Work with Me
First, I recognize the inherent dignity and value of each person and strive to treat clients accordingly.
Second, as a YNAB user for the past ten years, I have a strong understanding of the YNAB methodology, software, and habits needed for long-term success.
Third, for young adults, couples, and those in transition, I can help improve clarity around your finances so you can move forward confidently.
Finally, for those who feel called to give charitably but aren't sure how to balance giving with funding current and future needs, I can help you honor what you believe you're called to.
Why I Coach
I coach to set others on "new trajectories" toward long-term flourishing in areas outside of their finances. I believe that when one's finances are in a good spot, this increases the potential for someone to, for example, have stronger relationships, fulfill lifelong dreams, or serve their communities with greater focus and productivity.
Second, I coach to empower others to serve their families and the world with the resources (financial or otherwise) placed into their care.
Lastly, I coach from a personal desire to "give back" to others what I've learned over the years from my own financial experiences.
