I started a great corporate job at 19 and was going to Northern Illinois University to be an elementary teacher. Life and medical issues got in the way, so I left workforce and school much earlier than expected. Coupled with the 2008 housing Market crash and inflation, we landed in debt. Now our debt is gone but we are working to save for IVF to start our family, which is going to be an expensive journey. I live in Wisconsin with my husband who is an accountant, and my pup Penny-who we call Roo because she is quite bouncy.

I have a passion for teaching and helping people succeed. I know what it feels like to be perpetually in debt and want to help others learn what I wish I knew sooner. It is fulfilling to watch my clients when a concept clicks and links learning to their personal situation. I knew before YNAB there had to be a better way to get out and STAY out of debt, and now I have found the secret sauce I can help clients skip ahead to the good part and learn how to take control of their own budget and finances.

I have the real world experience of being in a low income single earner household for many years. I have been coaching for almost two years now and have had clients from all walks of life. I am very patient and given my education background, I like to meet people where they are at with their own learning speed. I believe that budgets should be flexible, because life happens and spending still has to happen. Rigid budgets break, which is why I named my coaching business Roo after my dog.
