Sareeta Lopez
Sareeta is a queer, neurodivergent trauma-informed financial coach, certified through the Trauma of Money program in addition to YNAB. Natural communicator and masterful teacher, Sareeta’s insights come from both professional teacher training and personal lived experience.
My Background
I am a certified financial coach through YNAB and also The Trauma of Money. I have a background in education and trauma informed care as a teacher, and I have experience as a coach, mentor, and workshop facilitator. My background in personal finance is based on years of research and training, teaching myself the parts of money management that are not typically taught in books or by financial advisors - like the impact of emotions on money, and how to prioritize financial goals when the goalposts of life have drastically changed over the last few decades.
Why Work with Me
I bring an anti-capitalist, trauma-informed approach to personal finance. This means we can talk about your relationship with money as well as the practical pieces of managing your finances. We can also talk about the impact that various life experiences have had on your approach to money, and dig into how this aligns with your values or how you would like to move towards values-centred financial decisions.
Why I Coach
I love to help others with personal finance, and I love to work with people who find personal finance inaccessible like I once did. Learning how to use money as a resource is life-changing, and I love helping my clients work towards healing their relationships with money while they unlearn the urgency and isolation that capitalism encourages.
