This Indiana YNABer bought an 80-year-old house knowing it would need some updates. What started as minor demo work escalated into a full scale home renovation that included moving walls and adding bathrooms. As the renovation progressed, it made sense to address all potential future needs at once, even though it exceeded the original budget. What was meant to be a simple kitchen renovation ultimately transformed the entire house over the course of five months. Advice: "It's worth every penny to pay other people to look at your project. It's really easy to get stuck in decision fatigue and it's totally OK to hire someone like a designer or decorator to help make the decisions."
